What is the significance of “22”?
Have you ever noticed that all the official photos of the F.P.Journe calendar watches are set to the date of “22”? This has been consistent since the first edition of the F.P.Journe catalogue – the Third Edition was released late last year.
Well the answer is that March 22 is François-Paul Journe’s birthday. It’s a subtle and nice personal touch.

March 22 (1923) was also the birth date of another controversial French figure, Marcel Marceau. The less said about that, the better.
It is apparently the date of the birth of Maximilian I (1459), another self-proclaimed Emperor and General Braxton Bragg (1817) (make your own connection).
It was the birthday of William Shatner (1931), who, like FPJ, was prepared 'to boldly go' where no man has gone before.
It was the birthday of Baron Andrew Lloyd Webber (1948), and it is an unsubstantiated rumour that his musical 'Jesus Christ Superstar' is an allegory for the career of FPJ and that 'Love Never Dies' was written with AndrewD and the dead seconds in mind.
On that day in 1963 the Beatles released their first album, dedicated to FPJ - "Please please me".
In 2006 it was the date on which Basque separatists declared a ceasefire. Who? ETA, of course.
It is the earliest date on which Easter Sunday can fall; should we expect a second coming?

" 22, voilà les flics " ( 22, here are the cops ), which is what thieves shouted to warn the colleagues that the cops are coming.

The Calendrier says March 22 ...
I just checked the 3 editions of the catalogue and the Calendrier always showed March 22. The other watches with date only show "22" of course.

Actually you've never told me ...
... exactly what happens, and I don't recall hearing exactly what the problem with the date disk was in that bad batch.
The outer ('tens') disk has 0, 1, 2, 3 printed 3 times around it. Does it get to "3" and then fail to advance at all? Can you make it 'reset' to "0" using the crown? Or is it all random?

its is jumping 11 days at a time...unique complication!!
basically, assume its 01 on monday, it jumps to 12 on tuesday, 23 on weds, 34 on thurs and 05 on friday, 16 on sat, 27 on sun, and 38 on monday....you get the drill.

Both the 'tens' and 'unit' disks turn each time. And the alignment of the two disks is always correct?

The alignment can be quite "straight"
But not always at the first change of day at midnight. There is some jerkiness before alignment, but it always jump 11 days in a month cycle.
