I generally keep only one metal bracelet sport watch that I wear when the situation requires it (e.g., the weather is hot and steamy; I'm roughing it outdoors; I'm likely to be exposed to moisture; etc.) or I have a whim to do so. In the past, watches from Ebel, Benz, Omega, Ball and G.O. have filled this niche; my current steel bracelet sport watch is a UTS 1000m v2 GMT:
I love this watch and think I would die happy if the UTS were to be the end of this part of my personal horological journey,,,,(I'm generally moving toward more classic, dress-oriented designs). Nevertheless, you'll notice that two beloved sport/diving watch brands (Rolex and Grand Seiko) are not among those I've owned...which brings me to my question:
Should I (would you) trade this piece for either a new Rolex Submariner or a Seiko Spring Drive diver and if so, which?
Thanks
DB Darien
I would go on a modern Rolex Submariner.
Ok, the watch is seen again and again, on a lot of wrists, but there may be a reason... Don't you think?
Ok, now which Sub?
With or without date?
As we're speaking about Modern Subs, a 16610 ( Date ), or 14060 ( without date ) are the ones.
The latest?
A bit too bulky for me, but why not?
If you want to have a Vintage feel on a modern Sub, the 14060 and the 16 610 can be found in the " tritium years ), till 1997, without compromising the funcitonality of the watch.
Best,
Nicolas
This UTS is something unique to you . Rolex subs will always be out there and GS Divers might be...based on your quote (per RJW's post), I can't any reason to change.
Plus I really like that UTS, too big for my wrist, but impressive.
