Horological Meandering

Although not obvious from photos the combination of polished surfaces and sharp angles result in this watch being very shiny in certain light conditions and the bezel almost looking diamond encrusted if the light catches it just right. Since this is a sport watch it just did not feel right to me, being so shiny and "flashy". I decided to have the polished surfaces brushed and very happy with the results. Here are some pics:

So what do you think? An improvement or sacrilege?

It looks great in my opinion, you are right on the SS models the angles are quite shiny and do not really match the sporty image which is why I have the other LW's.  You obviously got someone very good to do the polishing as it looks great.  Would be good to see a before and after, but definitely think you have done the right thing.

after matt brushed the angled sides of the bezel and the caseband, placing emphasis on the polished hands.
Looks good.  It need someone with precise skill to keep the meeting edges sharp, and not rounded.  The bottom facet, the edge at right corner (directly below the alley key screw) may need a little touch more
