We are marvelling (again) at Romain Jerome’s latest unique piece.
If you were head of the company what “DNA” would you like to include in your next watches? What would touch the heart and soul of the watch collector, the general public, the extroverted sportsman or wealthy billionaire?
Personally I think that the watches of Mahatma Gandhi, Albert Einstein and Steve McQueen, amongst others that have come to the market in the last few years, would have soaked up all the real deoxyribonucleic acid I am interested in.
But intrigued as to where your minds might wander …

I would not be surprised to see a Romain Jerome Subprime DNA watch
Watch dial will be made from the stock certificates of now defunct Bear Stearns and Lehman Brothers. And maybe the caseback will be an engraving of Angelo Mozillo, who is the founder of Countrywide.
Cheers,
Anthony
I like the way you think, Ping … cremated remains seem like the perfect target for RJ. Piece Unique, grieving relatives happy to pay a premium. Long term keepsake.
And what better way to preserve your favourite watch fanatic than in his/her own watch?!
Not sure if I will be suggesting this to my family or putting it in my Last Will and Testament however.

Ps. I see that “cremation jewellery”, such as fillable lockets, is actually quite popular, so there is a ready market for this.
... than mother-in-law's ashes in a watch - or in anything, really. Just have to persuade her to undergo cremation to qualify for the honour...
Cheers,
pplater.
i saw a documentary on it a few years ago. there is at least one company that will take your loved ones ashes and by some very clever process turn it into a diamond that you can then mount in a ring.
talk about being worth more dead than alive

F.P.Journe Boutiques use them to demonstrate the range of dial and case combinations available.
Very helpful.
