It's going to be a slow week, so how about a fun little experiment?
We're often reading posts and quotes about watch size (such as Mr Stern's quote brought to us by Stefan, below) and what has been very interesting is the range of views expressed in reply. What has been most interesting is the 'shift' in views which may be detected in the replies from some posters over time!
It appears that many of us express a distinct preference, but frequently move beyond that preference (be it larger or smaller) in the pieces we collect or wear. Andrew, what became of that statistical study you started a couple of weeks ago? Recalculating for the Sub???
The point of view which we express when these questions [frequently] arise is a point of view coloured by the fashion of the moment, or the present favourite watch in the collection. So, this is the proposal: spend this week wearing the smallest watch you own. It doesn't matter what that watch is or how long since it was last worn. It might be the case that you have only one watch, a 47mm Panerai that you wear every day. Wear that one. It may be that amongst the fifty watches you own you have a 30mm vintage Elgin that you haven't worn for two years. Wear that one.
Get used to it. See how it feels after a couple of hours; a day; a few days, then a week. Come back next weekend and let's see what we all think about watch sizes after we've had a decent exposure to a piece that either confirms our current preference (that Panerai!) or causes us to reflect on it from a little distance. It would be great to see them in the Friday Wristscan thread also!
How about it? Are you in? What have you got to lose? Unless something smaller turns up, expect to read about this one next week:

..in your watchbox, Quan, strap it on, leave it there, and tell us next week what you think about watch sizes!
Cheers,
pplater.

So - which one in your phenomenal collection is the smallest, and will you wear it all week? Your thoughts at the end of a whole week would fill a book!
Cheers,
pplater.

There is nothing new from you on the JLC forum and it can't be the Hybris Mechanica GS which is 43.8mm, so what can you possibly mean????
;-) ;-)
Looking forward to reading about your week,
Cheers,
pplater.
...before we have to start a vintage forum just to host your divertissements, Nicolas!
Cheers,
pplater.

))The proof of the the pudding is in the eating!
I´ll join in with my oldest watch which my wife gave to me when we married - seems as if it had been yesterday -
an Oris 34 mm with calendar, moon phase and second time zone.
I´m interested to learn about the experiences in a week´s time!
Best,
anaesdoc

Looking forward to learning your thoughts in a week's time.
Cheers,
pplater.

...(a baby anniversary Lindbergh?) would appear to be the smallest: will you wear it for the week?
Cheers,
pplater.
It's an indicator of the trending, Craig, when a watch with a case diameter of 40.5mm is the smallest in such a deep and diverse collection as yours is! Even that sensational AP is 43mm, apparently.
Well, you would be a good marker buoy for the outward reach. Notwithstanding your firmly established rotational habits, can you be persuaded to wear the FPJ all week and report back on any heightened sensitivity at the end of the week?
Cheers,
pplater.
