As you said, the Manometro won't be everybody's cup of tea, but this is why it is a lovely and interesting watch!
Impressive Carbon Finish, my friend!
Wow!
Enjoy it!
Best.

I previously contemplated buying one, but it has not quite inched up to the shot list . . . . yet.

i really love their Contagiri model with the retrograde single hour no minute hand so it looks like what its called(contagiri=rev counter). its flyback funkyness and no crown bezel operated wind and time set is just great. they also do a limited model in CF dedicated to the Alpha 8C, but its so limited as to be virtually impossible to get or afford.
i like the manometro a lot, but the contagiri presses all my buttons. amazing what you can do with an ETA 2824. italian design and swiss mechanics. you cant go wrong
nice purchase you lucky man

As a CFRP cased watch, the finish is dependent on the Gel coat.
I will have to talk to some friends re: the resin compositions available, but it would be great if you can keep us all informed on the your experiences of the watch's scratch and ding resistance.
What does the piece weigh?
Hello,
I had a chat with some materials friends on coatings on CFRP.
The typical gel coats don't provide any particular resistance. The moulding and autoclaving process means that there are limited resins available for use. Usually a Vinyl Ester, which is what I guess is used on your watch.
There have been tests on sputtering Nitride coatings onto CFRP (a cousin to PVD). But due to the relative softness (RM 80 ish) of the underlying material (the resin/fibre matrix) it didn't show much improvement.
So my guess is, that thing will be stiff, but be careful of door frames!
Just a few more pics of the carbon fibre and its brushed SS brother. I wondered myself about the degree of scratch resistance with the CF model. The brushed stainless steel model wears a bit "bigger" and is significantly heavier but fits nicely. These watches have got more reaction, so far all positive, than any of my others "in the field". The design is certainly stunning.

The straps are easily changed/interchangeable, in fact they come in a variety of colours(albeit pricey). Retained in the body of the case with screws.
