I would like to share some of my experience about watches that I still have and watches that I have sold....I just could not feel more sad when I sold my Patek Rose Gold Calatrava with Maroon Dial Leather manual wind (actually my dad's) with second dial (38mm) last year..At that time we were kind of in a bad financial situation then we sold that watch to ease abit of our problem. I am really surprise that almost all the calatravas for sale that I found in this website, they have a very high value for its price...Since last year I just sold it for 50 Million Rupiah (+-S$7900) to a watch seller/buyer which is a friend of mine.
..?
I was sad to hear that you had some financial pressure and had to sell your father's Patek. It only shows that your father was a man of good taste and demonstrated incredible forethought to have invested in a Patek when times were good.
It is always difficult to judge market conditions but I think many PuristS here try not to associate the pleasure of owning fine timepieces based only on their buying and selling experience. I've lost money on every watch I've ever sold but this has never soured my love of this hobby.
I think your current collection is very interesting. I would love to see a pic of your Eterna.
Again thanks for sharing your experience.
Cheers, Mike
) but the shop owner told us that the watch from 1934. In which we do not know exactly whether it is true coming from the 30's or not
and an Omega Constellation which was the watch my father received from my grandfather for his college graduation...family heirlooms
Cheers, Mike
It is not as good as the other's but hopefully it will do
Glad to know another Indonesian in this forum. I think your story is quite sad. I have never sell any of my watch before. Well, come to think of it I never sell anything that I ever owned except my old cars. I love watches and i think if I ever in your kind of financial situation, I would probably sell my dog or rob a bank before even considering selling my collection..
Just my personal view, many Indonesian do not value their watches for the artisitic or horological value but rather value them on how much gold and diamond the watch. Many brands posted on this forum is not even familiar to many Indonesian. We dont have watch magazines and other watch educating material. Many just want Rolex, Bulgari or Chopard (not the LUC) which has lots of diamond or gold on it.
Well in regards of my situation last time...I can't say how tremendously sad I am... to sell some of the collection...but heyyyy I might can get a better ones next time...

Love your Radiomir...looks so gorgeous mate...
cause it's so light and couldn't really feels that actually there's a watch on your wrist...
