There is just soo much admiration going on here.  It is pretty coincidental that I was just admiring your watch when you were in the process of paying mine a compliment. 

Though mine is somewhat pale in comparison.  It does have a great ring to the alarm sound as it is the TI version.

that makes it so special.
Titanium is a great material for some watches, love the weight and the color.

You just move the hour hand back and forth between 10 and 2 and you can quickly reset the date.

You don't have to do the usual wind of the minute hand round and round.

 

... I would designate this more as a workaround, and not a true quickset mechanism. In my opinion, this is a very outdated way to set the date, used in the forties and fifties, rather than today, with all the technical possibilities (not to forget the watch manufacturers' income) of today.

Hi Carl, these are not scratches in the crystal, and I have been asked more than once if the crystal is broken:



These golden lines are marking sectors of 30 degrees each, that are help locating the planets in the sky. The distances of inner planets, from Mercury to Mars, from the sun, are depicted in scale. Therefore, the sector outlines could be drawn straight. The distances of the outer planets, Jupiter and Saturn, are so large, though, that they had to be reduced in scale. Consequently, the sector borderlines had to be "folded" in order to take into account the new scales.

how to read anything other than the time. thats why i'm trying to get the book on the trilogy as nothing anywhere explains the workings well enough for me to understand it.

perhaps i'm just thick, but a perp without the day/date/month and year doesnt make sense. sorry.
