I think that it's a beautiful, elegant, and understated watch showing only time and subdial seconds. I purchased one about 2 years ago with ice blue dial and black strap. But my Dad opened box before I did and he really liked watch, so I gave it to him for 75th birthday. Although not a daily wearer for him, it is his favorite watch for any special occasions (his other choice is a JLC RG Reverso). I feel that in platinum and no cyclops, it's pretty stealthy for casual wear and it is a different and an unexpected Rolex offering.
To my knowledge he has had no problems with watch and expect he'll be wearing it at 100. It's a manual wind but that's the type of wristwatch that he grew up wearing. I personally like the look and recommend it highly.
