Triple complication: VC or PP?
Here are two Minute Repeater Tourbillon Perpetual Calendar timepieces:

Which one is your favorite?
I prefer rear tourbillons, but the transparent aesthetic of the PP doesn't appeal to me and I prefer the movement architecture of the VC: so, the VC is my personal favorite here, despite the large case size.

Neither of the two. The Vacheron dial is just awkward, the Patek let’s me completely cold
If you’re looking into this price range, for the mere mortal, everything needs to be perfect!

I feel the same way concerning the Patek and concerning the mandatory perfection at such a price range.
Concerning the dial of the VC, I feel differently: I find it interesting and quite nice.

I'd have to hear them in person, but I suspect the PP feels better on the wrist and sounds better. Like the look of the VC, but I suspect it'd be the PP. Dreamy repeaters...
I like the size of the PP better,
as well as the back tourbillon. It also probably sounds better. But the look is absolutely not for me. Even with its drawbacks the VC speaks to me more… 🤷🏽♂️

I'm mostly with you.
If I had the money, I'd perhaps hunt a vintage repeater. Clean, time only. Maybe a VC with teardrop lugs?
In this price range I would opt for the
Blancpain Grande Double Sonnerie.

Being a Grande Double Sonnerie, the BP is clearly one step beyond.
So, it's definitely a very strong contender.
But the openwork aesthetic isn't for me. I would still pick the VC, personally...

Patek is non traditional, so perhaps an acquired taste, but the VC dial seems unbalanced yet boring
I'd take the Patek here.
I understand how you feel about the dial
of the VC, even if I like it personally more than the smoked sapphire of the PP.

I would have to go with neither here.
I have never liked these transparent dials like the Patek here. I don’t like seeing the day/months through the dial when they’re not in the appropriate display window. Lange does these dials and some people go crazy about them. I don’t understand it. I would like to be excited about this VC but it also doesn’t do it for me. I’m not sure why in this case but it just doesn’t.

but smitten, no, smitten I am not.
