Which one would you choose?
As many of you know I really love vintage inspired Longines. I already have several ones and was looking to add one of these two newer references. The power reserve model is 38mm while the other is 40mm. Personally I prefer 40mm but when I tried the power reserve I loved its vintage vibe a lot! Size wise I don’t like the 19mm strap width on the power reserve but I could live with it. I do have a very nice 19mm longlines metal bracelet I could use on the power reserve while I also have countless 20mm straps I could use on the other version 🤭.

I like a clean center seconds. If the PR model didn't have a date, tougher choice
No date for me
As I'm getting older I have grown to appreciate simpler things plus if you have multiple watches just set the time and you're good to go!

The no date for me. The power reserve and date model just look awkward to me. Not really sure why tho.
I believe it is the same. I would vote for that one even if 40mm is usually too large for me
An alternative would be a nice black dial vintage version
I find the power reserve model more interesting.
1. Date at 12 o’clock is highly unusual and therefore interesting.
2. The power reserve in the center is an interesting complication.
3. 38mm is just about a perfect size. And this model looks like it wears big.
That’s not to say that I don’t like the time only model also. It’s very elegant.

I like them both to be honest and the power reserve, while a bit awkward in its design, adds to its charm. 2-4
I would go for the 2nd option.
Not a date hater but in this case I am disturbed by the date location in the first watch.
This is however very personal and I feel that you cannot go wrong with either of the two watches.

Both are great looking timepieces and for your wrist size you can carry them nicely without issues. I think you would enjoy # 1 more in the long run because of its uniqueness and rarity. The combination of the date window @ 12, syringe hands and rotating circular power reserve at the center is something you do not see very often. Good luck.
Because of the size or the overall look of the dial? I noticed the power reserve dial is a bit more cream making it more vintage
