Stowa Marine
My first mechanical german/swiss watch / several years ago/ - was the Stowa Marine. I met Jorg Schauer at Basel 2007 and one time more when he visited Poland at Watch Collectors Club meeting. The brand has kind of romantic charm, and is very sentimental to me.
Today I received the Marine 40mm automatic date, eta 2824 top grade.
I really appreciate the heat blued hands finishing and lacquered dial (looks really good, like enamel). At the retail price it is really bang for a buck, especially considering what you can buy from many well known brands.

What a coincidence - I was in communication with Georg . . .
. . . around the same time. Stowa had produced a limited edition of twenty five Eximas fitted . . .
. . . with NOS(!) Omega cal 286 movements. They were gone by the time I'd learned of their existence, so I contacted Georg to see if he could make another series. My recollection is he replied saying he might be able to make five more and would contact me when he was ready to move forward, but that was the last I heard from him.
To this day I keep looking for one of the twenty five to come up for sale.
