There is definitely some contrast between the way most prestige brands market themselves and how they are treated in the rap world. Though there’s plenty of overlap too as the watches are held in high esteem.
Wish I had some musical talent...as I’d love to see a rap on the commission of an iced-out Overseas Tourbillon with Vacheron’s Les Cabinotiers department. Would probably be a lot of “VC say that sh*t won’t fly”, but it could be the crossover hit they need.
To be a real watch song, I think a brand name has to be mentioned

As far as I know, this only happens in rap. Rolex, AP, Patek, and Richard Mille always seem to be brands of choice. I wonder if rappers will ever get into independents
Well, not rap or hip-hop, and no brand names, but since you went that way...

… As I was walking down the street one day A man came up to me and asked me what the time was that was on my watch, yeah And I said … Does anybody really know what time it is (I don't) Does anybody really care (care about time) If so I can't imagine why (no, no) We've all got time enough to cry … And I was walking down the street one day A pretty lady looked at me and said her diamond watch had stopped cold dead And I said … Does anybody really know what time it is (I don't) Does anybody really care (care about time) If so I can't imagine why (no, no) We've all got time enough to cry … And I was walking down the street one day (people runnin' everywhere) Being pushed and shoved by people (don't know where to go) Trying to beat the clock, oh, no I just don't know…
I like 80 ties and 70 ties pop music. When the quartz crisis was hurting the real watches, music was superior. When the real watches were normal, music was good in the 50 ties and 60 ties.
Today there is no good music anymore, but the real watches are back! So i put the needle to the grove, and listen Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young.
