With not much things
left to do around the house, and with lots of play time, I am starting to tryout macro photography. Here are some initial shots... I do hope that you like and enjoy them. Your comments will be most welcomed.

A ‘young’ padwan in macro photography, but something I’m starting to enjoy 😊
Macro scares me....look too close at anything and the magic disappears. it's like doing an X-Ray or Ultrasound of your body........YIKES I LOOK LIKE THAT??? [nt]

I will agree with you to some extent
However, I take it as is... Nothing man made will ever be perfect. Variations in the tiniest of scale is inescapable. To me, it adds to the character of the said piece. Of course, very poor quality or bad finishing, i.e. scratches across the quarter plate (for example) will not be acceptable.

As I’m very very new at this, I do not have any special or specialised macro photography equipment.
Yes, it’s very tough to get good shots... notwithstanding steady hands as I do not have a tripod too 😂
1. A fairly good light source, either soft or intense. I’m using my daughter’s desk/study lamp ~40watts for soft overtones lighting.
2. As, I do not have a macro lens for the camera, I’m just using my old iPhone 5 but coupled with a loupe! 🤣
3. Getting the light angled just right, and getting the distance between phone, loupe and object will be tricky. However, you’ll get the hang of things after several tries 😃
4. Playing with the phone camera zoom function and loupe brings some interesting photos!
The loupe I’m using...
I like the composition of this particular photo entitled “Double, double toil and trouble” in reflection to the current “bubble” of grey market (watch) pieces. Not in particular of Rolex but many other brands as well.

I find the most difficult is to spot focus and capture the area/part that I’m interested in.
First of all, I'm a huge fan of the 5164A and aspire to own one someday...
I'm no expert - or even advanced for that matter - in the realm of photography but I'd love to see some macro shots of the Travel Time dial with the usage of indirect daylight versus what I'm assuming was incandescent light under dark conditions? Anyway, I had a couple decent camera cameras but ultimately sold them to help fund watches
