Greetings to all!
I was delighted recently to receive an email message from Theodore Diehl, who revealed that he has been collaborating with Kari Voutilainen on a book that traces Kari's life history, investigates his craft, and catalogues many of his watches.
A fuller review will be forthcoming soon, but I have had the opportunity to page through the entire book in electronic form and find it mind-blowing. Excellent writing, and perhaps even better photography by Ralf Baumgarten (left me drooling, which takes some doing!). I can hardly wait to see this one in its hardback form -- I am sure that the tactile pleasure of turning the pages and the visual pop of the photographs will make this an often-viewed work in my home.
The book will be available in November -- I for one can't wait!
With Theodore's permission, here's a synopsis (sorry about the slight compression of the horizontal aspect):
Hope you enjoyed!
Best,
Gary G
