Independents

I can imagine how long it felt waiting !

By: Mark in Paris : July 26th, 2012-14:07

and I can say that it must be today one of the watches I like most in this field. Hence I'm really looking forward to reading your review, like many folks on this forum I think.

Huge congratz for this very high-end classic, elegant and technical watch. The finish seems amazing on the pics I could see before.

Wear it in good health Horo wink

Best,

Mark

I hate to wait, but have come to realize..

 By: Hororgasm : July 27th, 2012-00:05

The best pieces and most collectable, one should be patient. Took me years to realize, and more often then not in my youth, I buy what is available immediately and on the shelf of the AD.

Do you hate the wait? And if so, have you attempted to temper the urge?

Best,

Horo

I'm like you

By: Mark in Paris : July 27th, 2012-01:08

In fact I've always been lucky that the watches I was looking to purchase where available (even the wire transfer wait is too long :p).

I really don't know what I would do if I was annouced a 6 months or 1 year delivery time for example. I thought about that concerning the watches produced in a very small number : I didn't have to find an answer yet but it will be a hard one...

Cheers,

Mark

As one move "up" the horological ladder..it's becoming difficult to have ,,,

 By: Hororgasm : July 27th, 2012-18:55

Instant gratification pieces, and perhaps, one good thing about this hobby is that it "trains" us to have in the words of my favourite rock band Guns & Roses.... "A Little Patience"

Best, and HAGWE

Horo

And thanks for the congrats. Waited a long time, anything more then 3 months for me is a lot, I know others differ in timeframe considerations.

Best,

Horo

Great gathering of Indies!

 By: sidneyc : July 26th, 2012-17:44

Congrats Horo! LF is one of the most interesting Independents in the last year or so.

Enjoy this masterpiece! I really admire the design of  the movement of the Gallet Micro Rotor.

I suppose you didn't end up in the doghouse? The orange bag should get you out of trouble.

PS. Will we see an ankle shot? wink

whilst i did not end up in the doghouse, ankle shot was not possible...yet :)-

 By: Hororgasm : July 27th, 2012-03:25

Indie and good value brands the way to go.....overrated and overpriced Swiss brands will be relegated to "no interest" category.

thanks matey, appreciate the congrats. watch out for more adventures of the Independence Leaue, and the ankle shot(s)

best,

Horo

Ankles? Know anyone with great ankles???... ;-)

 By: pplater : July 27th, 2012-09:03

I know it's been a wait for you for this piece.  And good to see you still going strong on acquisitions smile

The Pink Flamingo strikes again :)

 By: Hororgasm : July 27th, 2012-00:08

Thanks mate, you did do your best to wither my desires though!!! smile

No more acquisitions for the rest of the year, books closed. I am waiting for you to show your latest acquisitions....

Best,

Horo This message has been edited by Hororgasm on 2012-07-27 00:10:08

A huge congrats Horo!

 By: fernando : July 26th, 2012-19:51

You did well with this one and I imagine it's all worth the wait after the long delays. For a time only, super elegant timepiece, this one ticks all the boxes for me as well. Nice idea to reverse the first pic.,... looks like all the indies are floating on the ceiling. smile

I'm glad you decided to share this new acquisition for our benefit. Looking forward to reading more!

Best

Fernando

looks like the Independence League flying off doesnt it?? :)

 By: Hororgasm : July 27th, 2012-03:43

wanted to have to effect of them flying...and because I am a photoshop idiot, i cant replicate it, so do it the old school way.

thanks for the congrats...appreciate it. when we met in HK, i told you it was already late in delivery. the factory had some issues, and wanted to rectify it, before delivering thier first pieces. i respect that, instead of delivering, and then have them send back for fixing.

will be back in HK within 2 weeks, see you then, and will bring the LF along.

Best,

Horo

Congrats Kev!

Here let me guess the location of the crime: Ion level 3

Murder weapon: as can be seen in the housing of the micro rotor

Alibi: something from a french leather maker and italian branded watch company.to sweeten the hostess of the house

LOL!

huge congrats on the indy collection dude!

It's getting bigger and you are setting a benchmark that I'm afraid I can't follow for a long long time.

cheers
