What a difference an angle makes
The bronze Gerald Genta Gefica Safari circa 1988.

No sparkle, no glare to scare off the wild game (in those days cameras were not the primary reason for a Safari).
The watch’s name GEFICA was said to be derived from the first two letters of three hunters' names: Geoffroy, Fissore and Canali.
No animals have been harmed during my custodianship of this watch; photos from the San Diego Safari Park.

The original strap was alleged to be elephant hide
I still have it somewhere. The lizard was a “temporary solution” to the proprietary lug problem.
I, too, have similar “temporary” solutions that can now be classified as “permanent”. Just ask my Wife! -John
