My series 2 arrived today, updated with the improved double escapement, complete service and a new strap!  Thank you Dr. Smith… I am anxiously awaiting my series 4 to be made… Jim

...and 'imperfect' details that make it handmade. The movement detail is a little over the top for me but I could live with it : )

I was fortunate to get the watch in the first place and the service that Dr. Smith and his wife Carolyn provide was spectacular…Jim

Good bless you , and all on our site. I called last year and his wife told me 5 years out. For delivery . I replied Mamm , I’m 70 now, I may not be around when my watch is finished. I’d rather not leave anything else to my kids . They will be getting enough already. Lol

But I will enjoy the series 2 and have the series 4 on order, I was told 3 years wait time a year ago, If I don’t see it in person I have a few worthy persons to pass it on to …Jim

This is very similar to the one I have in mind for mine, if it ends up being made in my lifetime!

So many questions? Why did it have to go for service? Was it losing/gaining time, or did the master recommend updating the movement with the double escapement? Looks like you forwent any case polishing. Does the master watchmaker not offer laser welding case refinishing. 

The watch got condensation in it while cleaning it so I sent it in to th eSmith’s for service. I don’t know the exact history of the watch but Roger and Carolyn did so when I purchased it I counted on their advice. When I sent it in I gave complete control to Roger for the service etc. He upgraded the movement to current standards, fully service it and left the case in it’s original form which I preferred anyways. Now I have an updated RWS unpolished and current. For me that is the best of all worlds, the swirls on the case are part of the history of the watch and fine by me…Jim

It is individual choice on how a watch owner treat's his/her watch, the best oof both worlds was mine…Jim

I can't wait to receive mine next year (hopefully!). I decided to go for the classic style in the original yellow gold. I understand the waitlist for RWS is now closed as they have overwhelming orders. The first Series 4 just came out in Platinum, hopefully you will get your Series 4 soon!

I was lucky enough to get on the list earlier this year before they closed it but not expecting anything before at least 5 years. Plenty of time to save up for it and think about the specifications!

The specifications for me are the hardest part. I could think about it for years, I would change my mind multiple times, and in the end leave it to the last minute under significant self imposed stress before making my final choice. At least that's what happened for my Series 2!

When Mr. Smith get to the point he tells me my watch is ready to start I will listen to him and follow his guidance thus the series 4 may not be the one, the anticipation is exciting…Jim

The Smith’s are great people and I don’t mind waiting for mine, I have no choice anyways but luckily I am in line. A platium series 4b would be my choice…Jim
