It is hard to believe that my love affair with the 1921 began four years ago. Well, really it began long before that, but consummation took place four years ago almost to the day. ;-)
I remain as passionate as ever about the American 1921. That watch sent me on a very interesting and fun path to discovering Vacheron Constantin and subsequently Vacheron & Constantin.
Along the way I have met some terrific people, both within the brand and without, and made some new friends as a result. It has been quite a journey so far, and I look forward to the years ahead with the 1921 on my wrist, reminding me always to spend my time wisely.
My thanks to everyone here on the forum who have offered me so much support, shared information and knowledge generously, and offered their time and friendship.

You have been and continue to be a great resource of information and inspiration on my VC, and especially my V&C journey. Thank you for your generosity and your friendship.
Best,

Happy to see that it is lasting love.
All the best,
Nicolas
I wear my heart on my sleeve -- or sometimes just under it.
Thanks, as always, for your encouragement and my horological education.
Best my friend,

I feel we have much to catch up on.
Yes, four years flew by. I had no idea what I was getting myself into when I strapped on the 1921 for the first time. But so glad I did.

Buying the 1921 when I did is one of the few smart moves I have made in this hobby. And it was smart for several reasons, at least for me. It remains a watch I continue to enjoy and feel passionate about even now several years later.

You and I both collected the cal. 4400 movement -- our respective watches just package that movement a little differently. ;-) Both beauties, though, I think we would both agree.
I am so glad to count you among my watch buddies, Robin. I always enjoy reading of your watch adventures and the passion you share. And I hope we get the chance to meet one day, as well.
Best,
Robert
...as you well know! ;-)
And the color of Dominic's message came from your words, which he merely reported back to me. But you got the message across even from Florida, which I where I think the two of you were.
Well, it is been quite an adventure for me these past four years with Vacheron Constantin. Thank you for playing such a big part in my journey thus far. I am grateful for all the knowledge, expertise, encouragement and humor you have shared with me along the way. I could not have foreseen attending the opening of the NYC Boutique (wasn't that fun!!!!) nor visiting VC in Geneva last year, nor most importantly, the friends I would make through Vacheron Constantin.
Best,
respo
It is a wonderful VC to own, wear and treasure. If I could have only one modern VC, well, this might be the one I would choose. In fact, I did choose it four years ago with exactly that strategy in mind. But I mistakenly thought I could restrict myself to just one VC. Boy, was that a blunder of $$$$$ proportions.
Best,

From your mouth to God's ears
dear Respo
Yes if it should be one Vc that is the one

I wait eagerly anticipating which VC will be your first. ;-)
Between the 1921 and the Saltarello, I am not sure which one I would recommend first. The 1921 is still in production (although I kind of wish VC would end its production sooner rather than later), rare but obtainable for some time to come. The Saltarello, however, is harder to come by particularly in the condition you want it and also depending on if you are particular about the metal (oh, that's right, the Blomman Way is one in each color). I guess, I would advise getting the Saltarello first if you come across one at the right moment and for the right price.
But who knows, you will no doubt surprise me, and in a very pleasant way, I am sure.
