I'm hardly an expert on watches, but I do have extensive first-hand experience with this watch. First of all, I absolutely love mine! Owned it for 147 days so far, and it's been on my wrist at least part of the time every day, with a conservatively estimated 1800 hours of wrist time. The winding is only in one direction. Every once in a while, I do feel hear the rotor freewheeling. I notice it perhaps once per day. I do occasionally feel it, too, but less frequently than I hear it.
Yes, the watch has a hack seconds function, which I've taken advantage of to get the minute hand and second hand aligned perfectly. However, the minute hand can be a bit jumpy when the crown is pushed back in, especially when making small adjustments. When making small adjustments, the minute hand can move a distance equivalent to a handful of seconds when the crown is pushed back in. It's a bit annoying, but I'll live, especially since VC calibrates their watches to leave the factory erring a bit on the fast side (according to the WatchTime special issue). Mine runs 6-7 seconds fast per day, which is pretty much in the middle of their stated tolerances. Once set just right, my routine adjustments (until needing to change time zones) consist simply of pulling out the crown, waiting for a minute or so, and pushing the crown back in. No jumping of the minute hand in that situation. Though that does bring me to the other minor annoyance... the crown is a bit hard to pull out since it's so small. That said, all in all, I'm thrilled with this watch. If I can answer any other questions, let me know!
