Have one myself. I like it way more than any Ellipse, for instance. In my opinion, it is playing with the rules, without breaking it, or even bending it, in a way that is to some extent very reminiscent of the Art-Déco.
Purchase a specific period-correct buckle for your watches? Among mines, there at least two - one from the late 1970's and one from the early 1950's - which are fitted with a contemporary Maltese Cross 18K. closure (I enjoy how the angles and facets on the buckle remind of the angulous designs of the two cases).
