Recently, I communicated with two collectors, and they both asked same question. ref.6111, Maltese cross case shape, where the lugs and the middle case join, there are two different shapes. I quote the photos from Phillips Auction.







I don't know this detail whether you have noticed it before. I think this is a deliberate nuance created by the case factory. Some friends think it is caused by polishing. But such a huge wear and tear is almost impossible. If the case polished, that part does not seem to make much sense. I want to hear everyone's views. best regards

This style of lug is also seen on references 6073 and 6099 (after an internet search), and the more commonly seen design appears to be the fuller style that meets closer together along the top of the caseband.

This lug style was used on several Chronometre Royal references besides the 6111.  From the few I've looked at, the straight version appeared on watches of newer manufacture, ca. 1960s.  If you are compiling a spreadsheet, another variable worth checking is case size.

Different refs have different diameters. I also found that ref.6067 Chronometre Royal appeared many times in past auctions, but in fact this model used caliber453. I guess its 33.5mm used other reference number This message has been edited by Tick Talk on 2023-03-30 13:48:10

ref.6105, Chronometre Royal ,used caliber1008. many times in past auctions ref.6105, advertidment printed mormal model, maybe used caliber454. But I haven't seen one which used the K454... My friend, a Chinese collector, had an in-depth conversation with me this morning. He believed that the traces of the lugs on the backcase were caused by the wear of the original bracelet, and the case and bracelet were later modified by the watch owner.

with that analysis. It seems the bracelets links which attach to the case are manufactured differently for the two styles of lugs.

The information which I have ， my personal experience and ability are not enough to make an accurate judgment directly, so I am asking questions here.



My friend's judgment is as follows: Initially, a bracelet like 6073 was used, but there was a gap between the bracelet and the case. The watch owner didn't like the shape and modified the shape of the bracelet and lugs.

at least, the Phillips 6111 changed bracelet shape.Whether the lugs shape changed or not is a matter of opinion.

Data is more accurate, but in the past, we have made many mistakes, often relying on images and intuition to judge.
