In your opinion, if this was the very first one, does it mean that the true Freak should be bright - made in RG, and not in WG like ours? Sort of a F..Y.. watch? 😀 thx
Dual Direct escapement
Does it still run? UN claimed that, sooner or later, the Freak 1s will inevitably stop working, which was the reason why they all were converted to Freak 1.5 standard (Dual indirect escapement) during service. Yet I heard that some Freak 1 owners denied that modification for theirs.

Mine was serviced a year ago.
UN said everything is fine with the movement and no changes were necessary.

Mine still runs with original escapement.
I bought mine new on 31 May 2002. I declined to upgrade the movement after a long chat with the UN dealer at the time.
No issues with the watch but admittedly I rarely wear it.
Good to see the box, too. We rarely see it. Now you just gave me the idea of launching a new Freak Roll Call.

I don’t think I have looked at the box in over a decade. All these synthetic interiors fall apart over time. I dread taking it out of storage. I was once told the deterioration of the boxes on older watches is another sign of authenticity 😀
