Hello ~

Let me try to share new concept about crown locking system.!!

Have you ever seen this system or similar  ?????????/

and do you think..........Good  or  Bad ????????

I am not good at English so...  I try to explain by drawing..

  Crown Locking Position

  Just open the lever=  Winding Position

   Open the lever more=  Time setting Position (I can make crown pull out without touch the crown)

 have a maximum reach that does not allow the user to extend beyond the 2nd crown setting damaging the crown stem. Hope this helps. Best rgds Will.

Against the side case. Otherwise, may get caught in all sorts of clothing or hooked accidentally onto other surfaces.

The problem with a lever crown and with your system in case of extreme shock against a rock for example, the lever breaks and the winding stem and what retains it can fall. No real warranty of absolute watertightness and water resistance. The best crown system was build by Rolex in the 1930's, it is the screw downcrown which is used on most of the diving and chrono watches

I agree with you, screw crown is very nice.~ but also has disadvantage.! 1. I have many experience screw line damaged. 2. screw crown is not good with manual winding movement.! when crown open, stem is pull out(time setting position) sometimes.....
and you are right.~~ this idea is started with panerai radiomir watch.!!

The older Rolex 6238/6239/62363/6265daytonas still have their crowns intact on most of them, same comment goes with Britscar/Jenny Sealab/Haste Carribean Deluxe/Ollech & Wajs Astrochron ref 2003 diving chronos. All were made with enough solid screw line threads to last decades. Unless the owner is absolute a careless person then yes the screw line threads can be damaged. But if well cared the system is far superior to the panerai crown lever system by all means.The panerai isn't a tool watch but the Rolex Sea Dweller and the Plo Prof were both tool watches with screw down crowns, the plo prof having an extra lock despite the screw downcrown to make sure never gets in the case

If you are uncomfortable, i am sorry... i just want to say....i think all kind of system has advantage and disadvantage at same time.!!!

It would require some practical tweaking and extensive testing, but i see potential. 

I agree it's similar to Panerai Luminor system, but in that case the guard is obtrousive and winding is difficult, You should manage to keep it flush with the case.

And imo it's not like the Panerai system because that's only a protective system and not an active system like your concept.
