RD website...is it a nightmare?
A good friend of mine, owner of some RD's, talked me about the new website....i could not believe it was real!
unfortunately it is!
Am i the only one who think it looks like the home page of a (awful) role game of the early 21st century?
I'm really angry and sad, it's time that the lovers of the good finishing and in house movement raise their voice, it's time to stop wasting money in marketing, parties, testimonials aetc. and focus the attention on the new calibers, the finishing and the reliability.

I am with you for a large part...
I also do not like the website, at least in terms of the user interface and the navigation. Too cluttered, too obstructed.
As for your final sentence - let the watch-god hear this - amen! But I guess we have to admit there are different markets, and selling more high-end pieces to rich people who are just looking for a new toy and some entertainment may benefit us collectors as well, as these pieces raise (significant) money for development and help to justify expenses on specialists and machinery.
I just hope that companies do not end up like Red Bull, the producer of the famous Austrian energy drink: They are basically a huge marketing machine which as a sideline produce this broth.
So far, RD has a full stable of thoroughbred horses, so I am positive for the future.

I sometimes have the feeling...
that brands (and I am not specific referring to any, just speaking general) would love to be left alone by the collectors and instead prefer to live in their own artificial world. Collectors, enthusiasts etc. are very much welcome to open their wallets, of course, but that's about it!
There are of course, real exceptions!

I agree with you on most part
I agree with you on most part but don't you think that part of the redbull machinery (let's take this example) is too create a world around the product without necessary focus only on the intrinsic value of the product? I mean a Red Bull can is effective (at least for people like me 
) but it stops there is no added value when you compare it to a competitor. What it makes more valuable than for instance a Burn (from Coca Cola Co.) it that when drinking a Red Bull I push my limits just like their ambassadors?
When you buy a new watch and since you are a watch collector do you honestly ONLY look at the intrinsic value of the product or do you manage to look at what the brand is building (image, history, know how, story) AND the product?
When buying a watch, $ 10K, $ 100K I will always look to what the brand is achieving in terms of quality but also in terms of brand image.

I like the website and believe it truly captures the essence of the brand. However, the new styles simply look watered down to me and weak. There is a disconnect between the websites images and the new softened Roger Dubuis look. Hopefully, the company relaunches the old Excalibur and ChronoExcel style Easy Diver.
