cbb,
Thanks for showing this Piece Unique Roger Dubuis. Was that a piece made before or after the Richemont takeover?
I have many good memories of Thailand and even some blank spaces due to beer....
I met a man once in Bangkok after speaking at a watch boutique opening ceremony.. He had innumerable watches; I mean literally thousands and thousands, according to Thai watch buddies. I gathered that he was the owner of a Thai beer brewery amongst other businesses......it may have been Singha Beer.
One of the reasons he had so many watches was that he bought watches to "give face", even if he was attending a cocktail party at the boutique.

During a visit to Chengmai, we discovered LEO beer and really liked it for the clean taste.
Unfortunately, you cannot find LEO beer where I live.
The Thai Trio of beers: Singha, Chang and Leo may not go down well with these ladies......

Khun cbb,
The Thai gentleman was very passionate about watches and he was kind enough to show me his Breguet watch that is both for wrist and pocket. That was also a Piece Unique made by Mr Hayek and the secrets are on the back. I was honoured that he shared with a nobody like me who is not Thai nor of rank.
What I meant was that after the opening ceremony, he was shown low-to-mid range watches from (then) unknown brands, that he did not seem interested.
Still he purchased a handful. I was told later that as it was the opening ceremony and he was a 'person of rank', it was good luck for the hosts and their business success.
So, he was respectful of the situation but had to get another three watches as his penalty.
Regards,
MTF
