Zenith

Hi there Zenith fans...does anybody else here think that the Zenith Chronomaster 410z or T without the open dial should be re-issued or revived?


I, for one , think it's one timeless classic from Zenith and so many people who have seen it also like it for it's  beauty.

I still remember the ad they made before LVMH took over Zenith...it said  "beautiful it  is, beautiful it will remain"  I have a magazine that still has that ad...back in 1990.

That model attracted me to Zenith then   Just borrowed a picture from the net   am not connected in any way to the seller. Just so happens they have a good picture of the 410z.

They may increase, just a little bit, the case diameter but is hard to change ... perfection.

We should start a movement to motivate Zenith to produce a set of re-editions.

They have so many wonders on their pockets.

Another one that deserves a re-edition: The Rainbow.



A full black for me, please? Make it two. A "full color" and one "full black".

   Yup!!! you got my vote on that! we should petition and email zenith (which I already did) - though I doubt they will read it hehehe

   but I truly think it is the model that can connect zenith to its roots....much like JLC's reverso classic...despite numerous iterations, you don't see them phasing out that model.

   I think the new models like stratos, 36000vph, striking 10th, pilots , doublematic, captain winsor..,,are all great watches. But  as people grow older  I think they seem to like the classics more. there is this longing inside that somehow the classics never go out of style.

   Breguet is another example ...they keep producing the classics even as they move on with newer designs.

that's a year 2000 model if I am not mistaken , correct?  look at it now - 12 yrs after, still beautiful as the day it came out

I bet 10 years down the road, it will still be beautiful ....as the zenith ad said 'beautiful it is, beautiful it will remain" ....will try to scan that ad and post it here soon

I never understood why they discontinued this watch, it's one of the most gorgeous watches I know

 

 

 

 

 

This one hunted my dreams until I found mine.

Not to mention the fact that is a very photogenic watch.

Glad you also share my views on the Chronomaster 410z ...my personal opinion is that it is much more a classic and would appeal to a larger audience than the Chronomaster Open they continue to produce now.

Somehow this model strikes a very nice balance. Simply Timeless 

Let's hope people at Zenith will listen to our opinions  and reconsider re-issuing this model

and I can only agree with you wholeheartedly. These are sadly under-recognised watches. Not only an in-house calibre, but one of the great chronograph movements, with the bonus of the triple date and moon phase. Aesthetically, can I speak in favour of the current size- for someone with a small wrist (6.5in) 39mm is absolutely ideal. There are far too many watches which are far too large out there already.

A great definition for the Chronomaster 410Z.

Beautiful in white or in black.

Congratulations. Now you need to source a 20mm strap for it.

so, I put on an 18mm that I had lying around, pending arrival of the strap (it is being sent separately by the auction house), or purchase of a new one (if it doesn't make it through Australian customs, being made from an endangered species). Apologies for the aesthetic infelicity due to my haste.

Exactly....though mine is the black dial with brown strap.  I think both the black and white dials are classics.

classics that still look good now as when they were made. 

However,  I do prefer that this watch remains  relatively unknown to the general public  and better known only to zenith lovers . I like esoteric things.

I don't like Zenith turning into  a Fad .

I wouldn't call it  "evil"  LOL.

It's more of the love for the brand that makes us keep it a guarded secret because we don't want it going the way of some brands  that have become fads - for people who don't care about horology at all - but just for the bling bling .

it's really sad to see beautiful artistic things turned into such things .

It's sad to see "some brands" being converted into fads but I handle this as a fact of life.

Let's cross our fingers that Zenith does not goes into the "limited edition" route that "some brands" went.

So far, Zenith has been really modest and I hope that stays this way.

I never read any watch magazine.

In fact, after the Internet I don't see if any magazine makes sense.

Before the Internet, I was an avid reader of many magazines but now is more easy to read on a tablet.

The Internet provides us with more fresh information than any magazine can provide.

I feel sorry about the end of the magazine era. I still have, someday my wife will donate, a huge collection of many computer magazines (PC Magazine, Byte, Dr. Dobbs and others) because I work in this area.

About the doublematic being selected as watch of the year, no surprises there. It's a very nice and elegant piece.

    hahaha actually I am equally guilty ! I stopped reading watch magazines about 10years or so ago, I just happened to stumble upon an online  article about the doublematic voted in that watch magazine.

I never understood why they dropped the watch that saved the company a few years back.  I had both the silver dialed Chronomaster T and this Chronomaster GT which is still one of my favorites.  I'm sure if you look up the definition of "Moonphase Chronometer" in the dictionary a picture of this watch is displayed...

Agreed...if you search the different fora in different countries you would discover that many are actually looking for the classic Chronomaster T and GT.

such a waste that Dufour decided to phase out these classics .
