Today my wife and i accompany our good friend to make their first Patek purchase.

My friend wanted to get a pair of patek for him and his wife, i suggested they start with the nautilus line as they both live a fairly active life. Show them the 5712R and the 7010R. Was love at first sight for them. ( who could resist a nautilus????) and the deal was done very quickly.
As they where finalizing the payments details, my wife ask to look at a particular model. We had seen/ tried the same model before but in Rosegold. When the dealer open the plastic wrap and my wife put it on her wrist......i know immediately i was in trouble.

Actually my wife never ask for the watch. I am the one who has a sickness
But Seeing a beautiful watch on my wifes wrist gives me the same pleasure as i am wearing one myself.

I know how you feel...
My wife has tried some watches she felt in love with. Now the same are in her watch box.
One of the great love affairs was Breguet Reine de Naples. She was cutting from somewhere a color picture of this watch and wearing the same on her wrist every now and then. Even a stupid man like me understood after a while that the wife is bloody serious with her love affair. The problem is that after one watch comes the next one, etc.
Three years ago my wife got her first watch. Now she has 2 x Rolex, 2 x JLC, Breguet, 4 x Patek... We must be careful with our wives. If they start to collect like we do, the results are not pleasing from our perspective.

My wife is ahead of me on the Patek count
I ask her if the manual movement is a problem( she usually wants a quartz) . She said with confident that she would labour a bit for this beauty. And thats the end of the story and the time i hand over my Amex
