Hello, i am new to this fórumand i really need your help, i have been buying and selling watches in Mexico since 2008, yesterday they offered to me a Patek Philippe reference 2499 in yellow gold, i have been researching but i would like to know the authenticity of the watch, it has his certificate and i will upload the fotos that i took from the watch.

Well, IMHO, and H here stands for humble, the first thing to do would be order to PP the Extract from the Archives, which will confirm date of sale, case and movement numbers and type of dial, and compare it  to the actual watch and certificate.

If it costs you less than a condo in Cancun, it's fake.

Seriously though, this is one of the most expensive watches that any of us will likely ever own.  Before considering a purchase of this magnitude you need more than just the help of this forum, you need to bring the watch to a Patek AD for authentication.  Much too much at stake to take any chances.

Surely, as such an expensive watch. I cant see how seller can refuse. Take pics of mvmt too.

People who own really valuable watches are not very often idiots. Furthermore, if somebody is getting a very valuable watch like 2499 in a legal way, he has also been most probably told about the value of the watch. The right place to sell such a watch would be through an auction house.

Send some pictures and also pictures of the Certificate. The contact Patek, give them the serials and check that the watch is not stolen.
