In Patek's offerings there is very little new. If 5170 is now made of WG and the indexes are replaced with Breguet numbers, it can not be called "new".
A new reference is 5200G. However, I can just see the basic idea of 5100 downgraded with day and date and added with a less complex case. Is it really new?
I am quite patient with Patek this year. I understand that next year there will real fireworks. It's lovely not to be forced to acquire anything new this year.

Its a clear improved watch, only regret is why the blue dial doesn't have platinum case.

I handled it yesterday. It was quite heavy and at least I would not need the added weight of platinum.
In metal it is a beautiful watch. The blue dial is not as readable as the white one - in fact the blue dial is a bit messy. If I could choose either 5100G or 5200G, I would probably take the older one.
Anyhow, 5200 is an impressive watch.
