Hi,
I just wish to check if anyone of you who owns a 5711 had encountered any problems on the said watch left on the watch winder.

I own several watch winders wherein I store my watches after use or after winding them so that it will be convenient for me to just pick it up and use it without rewinding the watch to the correct time.

In recent months, I noticed the 5711 failing to maintain the correct time after leaving it on the winder after use or rewinding. I thought that perhaps it could be related to the specific winder so I rotated the watches in those winders. Unfortunately, the other watches continued to maintain the correct time except on the 5711. It either stopped or lagged in time.

On the other hand, I tried using the 5711 for five consecutive days out of the winder and did not have any problem. It is running smoothly albeit a bit faster.

Could this be the 324 movement issue? Or any other issues I am unfamiliar with.

I had a trouble with the barrel of my 324 and I know several persons with similar problesm (winding efficiency  issues or power reserve). I'm not surprised by this sadly.

My advice is to fully wind it, wear the watch and check if it runs properly on the wrist.

If not, back to Patek. Mine was perfectly serviced and works without any problem now.

But the same issue recurs after leaving the 5711 on the winder for more than 2 days.

Had to send mine to Patek for the same reason.

I will try to do as suggested, will observe and do the necessary action including sending back to my AD for service.

of course you can claim service warranty !

I have same problem with my 5980, 5712ss, and 5712r. Now my watch winder is just a show box.

Is this related to all the movement installed in the said model.

... did you change the winder to only counterclockwise winding? The movement only winds in this direction. Bidirectional winding won´t give enough power to the watch. With my 5960 and 5146 which basically have the same automatic winding system, I realized that they gain full power reserve quite fast on the winder - faster than any other brand watch.

That's exactly the same recommendation given to me by my AD yesterday when I visited them.
I was told to put my winder to counter clockwise mode as that is how it should be to fully power the reserve of the watch.
I told them that I would do so. I was further told to fully wind the watch and observe its power in the next couple of days.
Today is Day2. Am still keeping my fingers crossed.
If it works, then great, I felt I discovered something new.
Otherwise, I was told that I can send it back to them for some checking.
I also mentioned that my winder are in clockwise and counter clockwise mode for the last 2 years and there were no issue on my other Pateks.

Will keep all posted.

The watch stopped on Day3 despite doing the counter clockwise mode and after fully winding the watch.
I will observe the watch in the next several days if constant wearing will ensure the watch movement will not stopped.

That my 5711's power reserve on the watch winder is doing fine now.

Apart from changing to counter clockwise mode and fully winding the watch by 60 turns, I also changed the battery of the winder to a new one.
It's been past 4 days already and the watch is keeping the correct time.

So sorry for posting on my 5711 issue and am glad to get good inputs from this forum.
