Patek Philippe

 

My Patek 5396R with the sector dial.  Elegant but interesting.  I quite like the cleanest of the newer dial, but that wasn't an option when I purchased mine.  Which version do you like?

I've got to say, I really really like this elegant, oddly sporting and fairly unique Patek. 

In this version and in this metal.

The latest version is more timeless.

I would think that this model was not sold so well, hence the facelift in form of a Calatrava.

In WG I do not see that much beauty in it but in RG: it is credible 30ies.

But I would also prefer without date!

I was looking for a 5296R but couldn't find one anywhere.  I was about to give up the hunt and purchase another watch when I saw and tried on a 5396R at a local AD.  I was immediately smitten with the overall design and concept and decided to maintain the search for the 5296 sector dial.  If my finances had been able to stretch to it I would have purchased the 5396 on the spot.  To me it is the perfect watch.

I think you have a real classic. I have the same watch in white gold and purchased it last year after a promotion I was working toward for 7 years. I was looking everywhere for it as the newer version was most current in stock while the sector dial was not being made anymore. In all honesty, I did vacillate over the newer vs the sector and took me a bit of time to get USD to the way the logo is on different than other PPs. I have to tell you. Ow, I wouldnt trade it for the world as I think it is so unique in its balance, beauty, ease of reading, and amount of complication data.

is unique and gives the watch character. The silvery opaline dials are nice, clean and crisp. The sunburst dials really catches the eye.
