Patek Philippe

I just got done with the annual shoot of the Barron's Roundtable. You can read about the shoot here:  tinyurl.com

But what you guys really wanna know is...what did Patek Uber-Aficionado Oscar Schafer rock on his arm this year?!!

But let's start with me...I decided to break out my old Patek 2425...a tank case in 18k gold with a matching gold bracelet from 1947...

Oscar was kind of impressed...even checkin' me out while I was shooting one of the other Roundtable members. But let's get to his wrist, shall we?!!

It's the Patek 5104P. This is certainly the most 'out there' Patek Oscar has ever showed up with. In the past he's worn the 5078P, 5016P, 5101P and the 5207P. Oscar simply redefines the term 'Big Baller'!!! 

I know...you say you can't really see it that well in that small image size, so here ya go...a cropped version that's practically LIFE SIZE ........

which is a minute repeater with a perpetual calender. very tasty this piece

Funny it comes at the same time as the Oscar nomination.

In any case you really capture the spirit in your pictures.

The watches he shows up with are without a doubt those of a real "Connoisseur".

I'm pretty sure Oscar was wearing the prototype of this watch.....

Any chance you can meet up with Oscar a little more often..?

I note with interest that Oscar has kept to simple buttoned single shirt cuffs, not a cufflink in sight, but obviously wearing a highly complicated Patek would make cuff "adornment" over-kill!!

...cuz this was the first year he wasn't wearing French cuffs and links as impressive as his watch! I was kinda bummed...

The 5104 is maybe the most "bizarre" Grande Complications from Patek, a lot fo personality but maybe not easy to deal with. What does Mr Shafer like in this special watch?
