Patek Philippe

I had not been in there since the renovations of a few years back.

Now these are what I call 'heavy metal'!!!!!!!

First up is the PP 5074P Minute Repeater Perpetual Calendar with cathedral gongs:

Next up is the 5207P Hours, minutes, small seconds, instant perpetual calendar in windows (day, date, month, leap-year, day/night indicator) and moon phases, minute repeater with tourbillon:

I was very fortunate to visit the patek salons in Geneva august of last year, and i must say that their hospitality and kindness is beyond compare.  I visited them wearing my old worldtimer,  a 5110J.  And when I tried some pieces there and saw the dilapidated condition of the leather strap of my watch, they changed it free of charge!  I was not even asking for it, and have not even bought a watch on that day!  Really, they are very great people. 

PS. I went back the day after and bought my nautilus there.  It was really a great experience.

Becomes only three weeks ago, I appeared to have been sitting more or less in the same seat as yourself (upstairs) looking at the very same two pieces.

And possibly being served by the same gracious lady, who helped me enough a very pleasurable hour examining and discussing these superb pieces.

While I was there I was also able to compare the 5207P, which is my most favourite Patek with the 5074p and a 5016.

Unfortunately, I didn't think to ask whether I could take any photos, as i was sure that it would have been frowned upon.

You are certainly a fan of the Nautilus range, did you purchase anything while you were there?

The only thing that I left the boutique with, was the new 2011 hardback catalogue, as I have been unable to get one here in the UK.

.....wife, we are staying at the President Wilson hotel and will be visiting the Patek museum, the salon and of course the shops my wife likes!
