Would you let go of a 3919J for a 5127J/5124G instead?
I have owned a Calatrava 3919J for over 20 years. It was the first PP I ever owned, a gift from my parents upon my college graduation. Other than its sentimental association, however, I have grown somewhat ambivalent about this watch, though I'm not sure exactly why. I do need a dress watch, however, and have come to admire the 5127J and especially the more recent 5124G. I know that some forum members might urge me to keep the 3919J and get one of the others at a future date; assuming for purposes of argument that I could only have one, however, is letting go of the 3919J for one of the other two a sensible move? Please help me to resolve this dilemma! Thanks.

If I got a Patek from my parents, 3919 or something else, I would never let it go, unless I need the money to buy bread.
Ordinarily I would have said, yes, why not if you like them more...but.
you will, in time regret it..in my opinion, if my Mum and dad had given me a swatch.....I would never part with it..

Like the others said I would not sell a watch offered to me, especially by my parents.
I've never been offered a watch by someone else than myself, even after more than 20 years of declared passion.
I have long hoped such thing to happen.
It won't happen now for me but it happened for you! Keep it!
