Patek Philippe

Hi,

This is my first post. I come from Indonesia. I bought all of my PPs 5396R, 5130R, 5159G, 5970P, 5960R last year.

Thanks to all of you, I have learned a lot from this forum.

So, what did bring you to PP watches?

What  was your " Trip " before getting your first PP?

Actually before I bought my first PP, I bought Cartiers and VCs, for my wife and my self. I have also bought Rolexes for my wife.

I bought PP because I like the complication and the quality of the workmanship. At first I considered the price quite expensive. Now, I am kind of getting used to it except for the minute repeaters. LOL.

I like full dial second hand and perpetual calendar. I hope one day PP will introduce am instantaneous perpetual without the MR function, and preferably with a full second hand. I consider an instantaneous perpetual a very useful function for those that need to travel across time zones...

It is interesting how we get "used" to the prices.

The first Patek I encountered was a 5035 in a magazine in 1997. The price of $18,000 USD was ABSURD!

Today, this would a bargain for a Patek complication light.

When we consider the price of a simple Patek watch as the same as the price of a mid-level car it borders on the ridiculous. Yet, there is no shortage of "clients" waiting their turn to purchase one of these beauties.

same path...fell fr a 5035 in late 90s as well, and couldnt afford one then. since then, always had a soft spot for PP annual calenders.

Which is your favourite of the ones that you have?

I like all of my watches. I wear my world time mostly if I need to travel, 5159 and 5960 on most days, and 5970 on week ends.

If I have choose my most favourite one, I will go with 5159. Probably because I like all of the features that 5159 has : perpetual, seconds hand, and retrograde date.

From the wide range of its products offering, I can tell PP is really a smart company. They are good.... I am happy with the quality of PP.

And congratulations on a fine collection of Patek timepieces.
