Patek Philippe

My daughter is turning 16 soon. I had always thought of a Gerald Genta Fantasy (the 36mm Mickey) as a great present for her. But she is starting to go out to parties and dressing well, etc, etc, so then I thought a 4910/10 (the stainless steel, black dial) would actually do a better job for her near future. The Genta would not look as well on a dressy party.

The thing is the movement of the Genta compared with a quartz...even if a Patek... I don't know what to do.

Any opinions? I obviously post this on the Patek forum because I know what the answers would be like on the GG forum )

I don't know your daughter, so I have no idea if she is interested in watches and watch mechanics?

If she has no interest in mechanical watches, maybe a quartz watch could be easier for her.

The 4910 is a nice classic now, but you may want to look at the new quartz 7011/1, the 2099 all steel Nautilus for ladies, which is really a gorgeous watch!





There are several versions of dial colors and with or without diamonds. It is definitely a ladies size.

Thank you Dje! I did not know that PP had issued already the SSteel version of the Nautilus for women. I thought only the gold versions where available. I will think about it...

She's about to turn 16, so not much interest yet on mechanicals or quartzs or anything else than boys, hahaha! But I am sure a PP will raise her interest, even a quartz one...

I'd either acquire a simple Rolex, Panerai, or a true and honest Patek. The 4910 in my opinion is not a piece that represents the Patek brand. If it's going to be a quartz Patek, the steel 24 is probably a better bet.
