I suppose yours has an 315.
The 324 is indeed a 315 with some modifications. As a customer you won't see or feel differences. I won't be more accurate, it is not better finished. The only difference is an advantage for Patek. The 324 takes less time to regulate. So it takes less time for aan Patek watchmaker to make the cal 324.
I would stick to the 315.
If you want an upgrade to a more complicated watch ... maybe. But imo not for this movement. And talking about a more complicated watch, your annual calendar is a gorgeous piece I see no reason for an upgrade.
Patek said a customer would not notice any difference , being more accurate would make a differcence.
On the other hand, who cares if a watch loses 1 secon more or less per month.
Hi Bruno. I only own 5146, with the 324 calibre.
A few months ago, while I was doing my homework prior to the purchase, I saw a number of adverse comments on the accuracy of the 315 calibre, and it was not a matter of just one second per month. It made me wait for a new piece with the 324, whilst one with the 315 was available. Perhaps I was just naive.
I do not think I would change a watch I like just to get a 4 Hz movement, but I welcome Patek's change to a calibre that is easier to regulate and does not seem to attract so many complaints about accuracy.
As a matter of interest, how has the accuracy been?
And which 5146 did you get?
