Patek Philippe

I would be grateful for assistance in setting the Moon calendar correctly on a 5146. The watch documentation comes with a list of full-moon days, but that will not be for a while now. The Patek web site portrays a picture for each day of the month, but it is not possible to get the exact picture as two stars, instead of the one depicted on the web, appear on my sub-dial. Are there any alternatives?

I google "moon phases"  which will take you to a site which has accurate moon phase info.  Today the moon is 88% waning gibbeous. The site shows a graphical depiction of the moon.  You then use the stylus to set the phase. I do not know how to accurately set the phase to exactly 88% but I just set it until it looks right.

Do you have the moon chart?
Set your watch to Full moon position and the count the number of days from May '08 full moon until today and push the pusher that number. It should line up pretty close as I believe it changes in the mornings.
I'm trying to recall  from memory, don't have the manual in front of me.
Some of us like to use a toothpick for the pushers.

when you bought your ref. 5146 the AD must have given you a pamphlet that has a schedule of full moons for 8 or 10 years. i look at mine and it always matches. thanks

I imagine Patek would not send a watch with a pin that would scratch the inner part of the pusher. The tooth-pick alternative does sound safer as the pin is quite sharp, but the pin is all I have available at the moment. Never have a tooth pick when one needs it most!!

I actually have several and find that for some reason, the YG ones are quite sharp while the RG and platinum (it might be WG for all I know) are more rounded. In any event, I prefer the toothpick too!
