Tiffany & Co Patek Platinum 1925
Hello everyone. I'm new to the forum and thought I'd share my Patek that I bought a while back and ask for an opinion. This piece is a 1925 Patek Philippe for Tiffany & Co. It is Platinum hinged cased and 18j. My question is this. If this were your watch how would you proceed with making it wearable again? It needs a crystal, a COA, and the dial is badly in need of replacement or refinishing. Also, does anyone know if Patek will refinish a dial to original state? The Stern agency has already told me that they would send this piece to Switzerland. Any thoughts from you seasoned Patek collectors/dealers? Thanks in advance for your valuable input.

Speaking about the Stern agency I suppose you live in the USA. I'm not a PP collector so I have no clue about a place where you could send your watch to be restored, except Patek Philippe directly.
Unless someone here has another solution to propose (through private mail please as per forum rules) if I was the owner I would give it to the Stern agency for a quotation of restoration. It's certainly going to be expensive in absolute but probably not so much compared to the value of the watch if you want it to be restored.

DO NOT RESTORE!!!
It is a piece of horological history - so do not restore the watch.
It will cost you a fortune if you sent it to Patek Geneva - you can save these bucks for another watch.
All you need to do is:
Look for a skillful watchmaker who is trained to clean and lubricate Swiss watches - he will easily do the job for about 100-200$.
He also can insert a new crytal at a fraction of what Patek is asking for the same.
I would keep the dial untouched as it is still very readable. There is no need of restauration. A restored dial will reduce the value of the watch for at least 30%.
If you still decide to have it restored you can mail me with a private message and I can tell you an adress of a professional restorer - or maybe I can assist you.
