does anyone know some information on the 5959? is it still being produced and can anyone pm me the list price? also has anyone seen one in person to testify to it's beauty?
thanks and happy new year.
p
yes, they are still in production (I think 10 pce per year)
Didn't see it yet, probably won't ever
Price is 3 5970's + 1 5070 ...
handled a 5959. Obviously did not push any buttons but it is a sublime watch.
It really is a stealth piece, like the 5101.

i understand this watch is ordered directly from either patek , geneva or patek, boutique. one person was delivered such model directly from distributor bypassing AD, recently.
but i must remind you, that this is a quite a small size case, for the watch collectors who like the larger case watches, certainly this will not be on their wish list.
i too had the chance to play with this model earlier this year, very smooth chronograph movement, its mechanism probably smoother than 5004. the enamel dial also very nice to look at.
happy hunting !

Thank you Mr. Suitbert W ... i am sadden of your departure, will you still participate yourself within this forum from time to time ?? Please PM me if possible... ?! Wishing you good health always ... !
I remember being told that. Can anyone confirm?

Hi Julian,
at that time, in the earlier 19 hundreds, a 12''' movement certainly would not be considered ladies size. The early Calatravas were even smaller .... so in my book it's a men's size movement when speaking about wrist watches. And 33mm was about normal.
12''' remained the "golden rule" size for a considerably long time - later slowly growing to 13''' for mens watches - but remaining
12'' for a long time for mor eleegant (and flat profile) watches.
Can you imagine what a wonderfull elegant chronograph could be dessigned with this movement - let's say in a 36-37mm case.
That would be an absolute dream - with well designed case and not to wide bezel - slim case band....
Best regards
Suitbert
