The enamel map of the pocket watch is so lovely ! However, the size of the “canvas” for the enamel dial of the pocket watch is....
bigger than our 5131s’ and therefore the craftsmanship for the 5131s IMO is just as good now ! Your thoughts on this point ?
IMHO the 5131 workmanship is much nicer, the pocket watch has the vintage charm but not the refinement of the 5131, the pocket watch is rougher [nt]

Yep, also not into pocket watches, though it would be quite amazing to have such a unique, magnificent rare handcraft piece! ;-)
A very strong performance by Patek on many models so far, including an R gold 1518 (!) that fetched over $3.3M ;-)

That was JC Biver's personal 1518, hence the hammer price BUT from the looks of other results which are RIDICULOUS, I would not use this auction as a point of reference 🤣😂 [nt]

Yep, from JCB's own collection, but still...;-) I'm glad to see such excellent results (for Patek and, even more remarkably, FPJ).
Of course there's no guarantee that's how the market will consistently perform going forward, but these are certainly excellent signs for Patek, FPJ and also Rolex given the troubled times ;-) Cheers.

I have been discussing the results with many knowledgeable collectors and auction goers for many years and it is very clear that something is VERY fishy here.
A Batman and a Pepsi of ZERO significance hammered at DOUBLE high secondary market price. Many other pieces hammering for record results. If it looks and smells fishy, more than likely it is a dead fish. 🤦♂️🤦♂️
