Noticed the “red” 4 leap year yesterday. Nice touch. Or maybe that’s common for all Patek Perpetual Calendar and I just knew that. Loved it. Have a good weekend everyone!
To see this crazy set of wheels doing its magic .... (and now i really believe we are crazy to spend so much for something that we expect and see in action for some minutes once every 4 years !)
One of my favourite pieces ever! Such a beautiful and symmetrical setting of the stepped aperture window, logo and the Perp... p.s. I have a tiffany one for sale, can name. 😉
It’s nice that, as an additional reminder, they put the leap year indicator “4” in red. It catches the eye.
On the other hand, the one thing that makes a perpetual so special is that in the leap year it jumps from 28 feb to 29 feb than to 1 march, hence the watch already knows it’s a leap year and thus the owner doesn’t have to think about it.
So if the owner doesn’t have to think about it, why than put the indicator in red?
But it does bring another question to mind: why is the date indicator “1” in red as well?
