Hi. Would anyone with a far greater knowledge of Patek Philippe tell me what this watch is and if of any value? A friend’s grandfather passed it down

To me it appears like a very nice vintage Calatrava 2526. I am new to the forum so not sure whether I can comment about the value.
I bought a similar one for $3k a few years ago
My did not have as nice a bracelet as that — mine was totally worn out and not originally Patek so I traded it to my jeweler for something I’ve since forgotten.
This watch actually runs great although it looks a bit scruffy - it’s had a long hard life.

Most likely Ref 96.
This is NOT a 2526 as it has a snap caseback where the 2526 is a screw caseback. Also the dial does not appear to be enamel.
