After much thought and research on this website I decided what Patek I want as my first.
I tried the 5119 on at my local jeweller and it sat nicely on my wrist, but the 3919 gets my heart beating faster, than the 5119.
Only restraint is the smaller case. I have a 17 cm wrist, but large hands.
Can any of you tell me what the lug to lug size of both these watches is. And off course any and all advice is welcome.

Welcome on this beautiful site, and glad we've been of some help! Personally, I would (and did) go for the 5119 -- I have the R version, and was also my first Patek, bought in 2009...
IMO, buying from an AD with whom you have/can establish a relationship is generally better, which is another plus for the more modern version. But in the end it really boils down to personal taste, and both pieces are incredibly classical and full of Patek DNA, so you can't really be wrong.
Just keep in mind that the 5119s are being discontinued, so they may not be available for long at your AD...

It is a very nice watch the 5120, but ideally I want a second hand on my watch.
That 5119 is sits really nice on your wrist and with the blue strap it looks less formal. In a perfect world I would look at the 5119 and 3919 side by side, but there is no jeweller in the area that has a used 3919, hence my questions on this forum.

I am not a 3919 owner, but I have 32, 34, 35 mm watches which are absolutely not a problem to wear on my... 17 cm wrist. Welcome here, by the way! [nt]

I get what you mean, but I think the difference minimal. Leaning towards a 3919 because this the original from historical point of view.
Also curious if someone actually owns a 5022 rose gold. There aren't much for sale, maybe not so desirable??

A couple of weeks later
Made my decision and went to buy the 3919, full set and serviced by Patek in december, then the shopowner pulls out an 36mm A Lang & Sohne 1815 yellow gold.
So I went home with more food for thought. He has both watches on hold for a week for me to decide. Will be doing a lot of reading this weekend about A Lange & Sohne and on monday going to make my decision.
