That little movement in that big case has been keeping me away from “Modern Patek “ in general. I am a “Vintage” guy. The older watches just make more sense to me.

To be honest the 5110P is most likely (95%) my next piece. But the 5230G is growing on me after this trial.
It’s mostly the fear of buying an « old » watch where I am not sure of its history, versus a new watch... unless I find a nice 5110P from a Purist ...
I happen to agree with you. I'm not comfortable with second hand but, I have bought one second hand watch from a Purist once. The watch was in mint condition, I think it hadn't been worn before.

The Geneva Salon!
Congratulations! I was fortunate to go there in 2016. Couldn’t afford a watch, but I did buy a beautiful pair of white gold cuff links! I went through the Patek Museum twice. One day, I just walked through it on my own for a couple of hours. The next day, I had booked a private tour. My guide was excellent. Any of our Purist family that possibly can , must visit the Patek Salon and Museum. I would love to visit the Patek factory. My very small collection of Patek Philippe watches are all vintage pieces. I think you have to be a high-end retail purchaser of their watches to get the factory invite. Makes perfect sense.
I've been lucky enough to be invited to the factory (and museum) visit after buying my first Patek.
I believe it's all a matter of relationship with your Salon (or AD). Kindly ask them, reminding them that you're a true Purist, collecting vintage timepieces.
I agree, is not a bad piece of advice at all
I know people invited that didn't own any Patek, but maybe the AD/Salon saw some potential. It's also a good way to show Patek to people that are starting to discover high end watches.
When i go back to Switzerland ill go there definitely.
