I wonder when yours will arrive and I hope we will see it on this forum I am debating between two watches as usual but the 5170P is almost a no brainer.
Not everyone can wear a larger 42MM 5070P on their wrist. As the case is fairly large, too large for some audiences who prefer the more classic look of having a "normal" sized watch rather than an "oversized" watch on their wrists.
But to answer your question; I like the 5070P personally. As I personally adore the "stepped" case and lugs.
Furthermore, I do applaud the execution of the 5170P. I think the diamond hour markers are very appealing and I do hope to see more diamond hour markers in the future. I think special subtle touches do make the watch feel special, and while I'm not someone who necessarily likes my watches diamond encrusted, I do find that they're very good when you want an entirely scratch resistant timepiece!
5070P is magical. Aside from all the "less important" items such as limited production, Phillips Stern era magic, Lemania caliber, history of the 5070, bold and unique case, etc, the Blue dial of the 5070P is superb as compared to a gradient dial with massive diamonds on the 5170.... absolutely no contest here
