Horizontal “3” & “9”: yes or no?
I absolutely love this layout of the Arabic numerals, with horizontal “3” & “9”, and the “Bauhaus-style” font (just my way of characterising it).
They can be
found across
three Patek Philippe rectangular references powered by the
9-90 caliber.
Ref. 1531 The example below is in
stainless steel and I find it
stunning.

The other
common variant of the
dial features only
hour markers.

Ref. 1532 Again, the first example below is in
stainless steel.
I know that
hooded lugs aren't everyone's cup of tea, but I
like this reference a
lot too.

Here's another gorgeous
yellow gold example.

If you
prefer, you can also find this
reference in
stainless steel and
pink gold, with a
salmon dial!
Another layout of the dial features
applied vertical Arabic numerals. I find it far
less appealing, personally.
The example below, signed Keltz-Bloch is in
stainless steel.

Ref. 1530 Lastly, I have found this very rare
stainless steel example of ref. 1530 with a salmon dial and horizontal “3” & “9”.

The
dial layout which is
predominantly associated with this
reference features
vertical Roman numerals.

So,
what do you
think about these
dials with
horizontal “
3” & “
9”? Do you
like them
too?
And what about the references themselves (1531, 1532 and 1530)? Do you have a favorite?
I personally love 1531 and 1532 and the horizontal Arabic layout.
Thanks for looking.
Best, Emmanuel
