Jaguar quietly but seemingly impressively progressing with the 2026 relaunch
I know that the majority of WPS members express an intense scepticism about the hinted at direction of Jaguar after the closing of the factories and deliveries of the current line up, paired with the pastel colored design studies earlier this year.

Evo magazine had the opportunity to experience some pre-production prototypes recently and came away impressed - with the standard disclaimers that they were only driven in and that they cannot show the finished product yet.

Autocar even termed it the best riding car of all times 😊
Now I am aware that this is possibly the last reasonable shot the brand has at surviving and that it may well stray from the intended target but I am a lot less concerned about the design aspect of the relaunch than some.
A vibrant Jaguar could be a nice and refreshing addition to the automotive landscape, so I do root for them to succeed 🤞🏻

I think it's kind of cool.
It's kind of like the Cadillac Celestiq idea but at a lower price. They build a big EV sedan for people who fly for anything more than a three hour drive. I even think it looks cool. The bigger problem is whether such a niche product can sustain a company that was a full-line manufacturer of cars and SUVs with labor force and factories to match. Cadillac has a large lineup of cars and trucks besides the Celestiq, and Jaguar has none.
Every attempt to flesh out the Jaguar lineup with SUVs - the only thing that sells anymore - has been met with the obvious response that nobody walks into a Jag/Land Rover dealer and choses a Jag SUV over a Land Rover.

Maybe the joint dealerships were part of the problem…
But certainly not the only one. To your point - the advantage of the Tara Group is that some of the factories could be reassigned between brands, allowing Jaguar a smaller footprint it may possibly fill. I guess time will tell but if they survive closing down for over a year before the DeLorean start the basis will hopefully be there 🤞🏻
Good to see they're still trying, even with sales in the dumpster and British reliability being what it is.

We have a local dealer, it's bleak on this side of the pond. I love the lil Jag F, but after having a couple of Bentley cars i think my British car days are behind me.
Unless it's a TVR. If you're going to do British crazy, may as well go TVR i guess. roflol

As much as I hear nostalgia on the statement…
MG (and I really cannot say to be a fan of the renaming into Modern Gentleman) is selling more and quite likely much higher quality cars than it ever did under European ownership 😉

From JLR dealer I know was that it got pushed out even further. All they have a f pace to sell 😂😂

While the design and colors seemed jarring when released, I had liked the proportions. I believe that it will still make a good car in production form…….or hope for the sake of Jaguar

And you are right, the proportions are very interesting indeed. Apparently of all the Jaguars trialed as an inspiration they liked the XJC best, which should be encouraging 🤞🏻
