They were built from the parts bins of manufacturers - often quite good parts. Their major weakness to the modern buyer is the tubular steel sub-frame.

. . . and every American muscle car save a Boss 429 Cougar (there were only two made), Lancias, Porsche 550 Spyders . . . every desirable make and model imaginable except TVR.

I've seen two Spyders, Nicolas, both being driven on northbound Pacific Coast Highway . . .
. . . and Andrew D was in my passenger seat the first time.

Oh, I wish, Nicolas. The opportunity with Andrew came when we were southbound on PCH . . .
. . . and some Porsche club was northbound. Roughly twenty vintage and modern Porsches driven by their owners towards Santa Barbara as we were on our way to Santa Monica.
Gosh, do I ever miss him.
